The Piano Tuner
by Daniel Mason
In the mid nineteenth-century, a piano tuner from London is commissioned to travel to Burma to tune a piano for an army surgeon. This is a story about a journey - leaving one country and finding another. Learning that people are different and also the same. About music and medicine. About love and longing. About leaving, discovery and change. It is about a man and it is about a piano.
